Una notte al mare

The first orchestral piece I composed, "Una notte al mare", which translates to "a night at sea", is a tribute to my Italian-American ancestry. Its three-note ostinato represents the tides rolling across the ocean, from the docks of Southern Italy's serene seaports to the bustling, sprawling harbor of New York City. As the melody wanders, it struggles to acculturate within an environment supposedly rife with opportunity. In "Una notte al mare," I imagine myself in my family's shoes, traveling on my own "night at sea" towards a new phase of my life after graduating from Berklee College of Music.

"Una notte al mare" was recorded by a live chamber orchestra at Futura Productions in May 2024.
